Description:  Over the last few years, the OCMCA Stroke Systems of Care (SSoC) Special Study has made great strides in the realm of prehospital stroke care in Michigan. This includes the adoption of a new stroke protocol for all OCMCA EMS agencies, as well as an optional special study to measure and evaluate the ability of EMS to identify and measure stroke severity. In 2022, the OCMCA continues to improve and expand the impact of prehospital stroke care by establishing a collaborative Stroke Systems of Care Workgroup between the OCMCA and the Macomb County Medical Control Authority (MCMCA). To support this expansion, all OCMCA and MCMCA LSAs are invited to attend a one-hour introduction to the OCMCA SSoC Special Study.

Objectives:  During this session, we will

  • Provide an overview of FAST-ED and the OCMCA SSoC special study.
  • List and describe all LSA requirements.
  • Obtain feedback from LSAs regarding how to make it easy for them to participate.
