OCMCA History

The Oakland County Medical Control Authority began operations in 1995 as a Michigan non-profit corporation. The OCMCA was founded by the hospitals of Oakland County, in partnership with EMS agencies and the county of Oakland. In 2008, 14 hospitals were part of the organization and 48 EMS agencies belonged to the OCMCA; 39 fire-based agencies, and nine private agencies. In 1995, the OCMCA began with just seven ALS agencies, whereas today there are 30 ALS agencies.
