About the Oakland County Medical Control Authority

PURPOSE OF THE OCMCA

OCMCA History

The Oakland County Medical Control Authority began operations in 1995 as a Michigan non-profit corporation. The OCMCA was founded by the hospitals of Oakland County, in partnership with EMS agencies and the county of Oakland. In 2008, 14 hospitals were part of the organization and 48 EMS agencies belonged to the OCMCA; 39 fire-based agencies, and nine private agencies. In 1995, the OCMCA began with just seven ALS agencies, whereas today there are 30 ALS agencies.

OCMCA MISSION STATEMENT

To bring our vision into reality, the Oakland County Medial Control Authority strives for a progressive coordinated system delivering quality prehospital emergency care, while providing a state of comprehensive readiness effectively partnering with neighboring systems.
