Recommendations:
- Hospital should notify OCMCA of known missed intubations to improve Quality Assurance.
Base Hospital Study
Recommendations:

Pain Study
Recommendations:
Education Committee to develop education expectations for Oakland County EMS agencies for each of the following recommendations:
- Scoring pain on 0-10 scale should be utilized for all types of pain.
- Pain meds pre-hospital should be utilized more frequently. Current use in indicated patients is less than 50% of patients in need.
- OCMCA pre-hospital treatment of pain, while not at goal, exceeds the bleak National numbers of 10-20%. (OCMCA) medical: 47%; trauma: 24%).
- EMS run sheet documentation is critical to the retrospective study of EMS personnel assessing and treating pain compassionately.
Restudy this year; approximately three months after education is completed.
Cardiac Arrest Study
- Education Committee to develop educational expectations.
- Endotracheal intubation retraining suggested to raise success rate to National comparative (93%).
- Educational reminder- Narcan, D50, and Bicarb not indicated unless specific patient history dictates use.
- “Saves” need better documentation regarding EKG findings and vitals.
- Documentation adequacy retraining (goal: 95% adequacy).
